Consumer Pulse Wave 5

The proportion of consumers negatively impacted by COVID-19 dropped to 55%, the lowest rate since the survey started. The Gen Z cohort continues to register the greatest impact, with 69% indicating negative impact this month – the only generational cohort to increase during the period.

Perhaps reflecting the extended nature of the pandemic and lockdown, the length of time consumers expect to be able to pay bills decreased with those able to maintain bill payments less than two weeks increasing to over 20% of the population.

While the overall proportion of responders indicating they have been targeted by fraud during the pandemic has dropped, more of the consumers targeted have acted on a scheme and become a victim compared to two months ago.
