As Canada’s economy continues to rebound, credit consumers remained cautious but optimistic about their finances as many are still budgeting and not actively seeking new credit. 

Consumers are still restraining spend on discretionary items, which may also impact the upcoming holiday season. 

Younger consumers — specifically Gen Z and Millennials — were impacted more severely as they’re more likely to experience volatility in employment and income affecting their ability to cover debt.
